In Candles

In an age full of complicated technologies and video games, those of us at Sydney Fragrance are dedicated to educating you on some of the more simple delights that life has to offer. A beautiful glass jar and a scented candle, for instance. Easy, affordable – and elegant. A fragrance can transform a space and if you close your eyes, you can travel anywhere without even moving. You just need the right candle, and an old fashioned imagination.

To ensure optimal enjoyment from your Sydney Fragrance candle, there are a few things you can do to keep it loved and burning bright.
This, we’ll call it – is the art of candle burning.
  1. Before first burn, cut your wick down to approx. 7mm.
  2. When lighting for the first time, burn until wax melts across entire surface to the sides of vessel/jar. This may take up to 2-4 hours.
  3. To keep your candle looking suitably luxe, simply wipe any black soot that may form on the inside of the jar with damp cloth.
  4. Always burn your candle on a flat, heat resistant surface. (An uncluttered space will ensure it looks great for those sudden visitors).
  5. Candle sessions should always last longer than 1 hour and fewer than 4 hours.
  6. Extinguish candle with a snuffer. Do not blow out.
  7. Draughts decrease burn time, cause uneven burning, smoking and diminished scent throw.
  8. Keep your candle away from sunlight and heat sources – candles will lose their scent and discolour when placed in direct sunlight.
  9. When burning many candles together, place them apart to prevent uneven burning.
  10. A little music can work wonders with scents. Stimulating all your senses at the same time can improve creativity.
Happy burning.
